Real Life Wedding
A Glorious Summer Wedding
Becky and Tom set a late-August date for their wedding at Morden Hall. With a classic colour scheme, elegant styling, fabulous food and plenty of dancing, it was a delightful summer celebration.
The Perfect Venue
With an August wedding date in mind, Becky and Tom were looking for a venue close to home and with stunning indoor spaces as well as lovely gardens. As soon as they saw Morden Hall, they knew it was just the place.
“It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. The grounds were beautiful and the venue was open, bright and spacious. I loved the original features with the modern twist. The staircase in the Willow Room also really sealed the deal for me!”- Becky
Setting The Scene
The happy couple chose a timeless, classic colour scheme with neutral shades and hints of rose gold. Delicate, pretty flowers included white hydrangeas, peach ‘Avalanche’ roses, lisianthus, spray roses and eucalyptus.
Complementing the beauty of Morden Hall, Becky and Tom added a few personalised details including a post-box, centrepieces and the orders of service.
“We made these ourselves as it meant we could keep them afterwards as mementoes of the day.” – Becky
After trying on a number of dresses, Becky chose a stunning strapless lace gown by Maggie Sottero.
“I wanted something traditional and romantic and it ticked all the boxes. I added sparkly buttons to the back and had a belt sewn in to add some sparkle.”
She accessorised with a Swarovski bracelet and Sophia Webster shoes.
Meanwhile, Tom looked the part in black tie with a velvet jacket and Becky’s five bridesmaids were beautiful in rose gold sequin multiway dresses.
“As the dresses were quite a statement in themselves, they chose to keep everything else very simple.” – Becky
Wedding Day Details
Following their romantic ceremony at Morden Hall, drinks and canapés were served by the on-site catering company.
Moving into the Mulberry Suite to dine, the wedding breakfast commenced with a goats cheese starter followed by beef with dauphinoise potatoes and Eton Mess.
“The catering was exquisite. We knew whatever we picked would be amazing!” – Becky.
As day turned to evening, a DJ played favourite songs including the first dance track, ‘Back at One’ by Brian McKnight. Wood-fired pizza delighted the guests and the dancefloor filled.
“The whole day was everything I hoped for and more. Two favourite moments were my dad and bridesmaids seeing me in my dress for the first time and walking down the aisle and seeing my new husband. All were such amazing moments, which I will never forget.”
