Real Life WeddingA Pastel Summer Celebration
Maggie and Deborah chose a glorious August date for their wedding at Morden Hall. With a delicate colour scheme, beautiful flowers and exquisite food, it was a day to delight.
The Perfect Venue
Dreaming of a summer celebration, Maggie and Deborah wanted to find an elegant manor house wedding venue. They came across Morden Hall and the search was over!
“Morden Hall gave off an elegant yet cosy and comfortable vibe. As a bonus, it was close to central London so easily accessible for our friends from overseas.” – Maggie & Deborah
Setting The Scene
Deciding on August wedding date, a delicate pastel colour scheme was the perfect choice for both the venue and the season.
“We displayed photographs of us and mementos from our relationship. We also made origami cranes and stars and put them in glass jars.” – Maggie & Deborah
Bridal Style
Both Maggie and Deborah found their dresses in David’s Bridal. Maggie’s stunning Vera Wang ceremony gown featured intricate lacing and a bow at the back, while her beautiful embroidered evening dress came from Needle and Thread.
Deborah also looked beautiful in a sleeveless ivory A-line dress with lace across the bodice and down the train.
“We both wore necklaces from Swarovski and shoes from Rainbow Club. Deborah wore a watch gifted by her sister and Maggie wore earrings from her mother.” – Maggie & Deborah
Their six bridesmaids all wore dresses from Dessy.
All About Flowers
Glorious blooms adorned Morden Hall, from the fabulous arrangement on the staircase to the centrepieces in the Mulberry Suite, all created by Flowers by Eve. Bouquets and posies were also chosen to complement the gowns.
Wedding Day Details
Following the romantic ceremony at Morden Hall, drinks and canapés were served by Morden Hall’s on-site catering company.
Entertaining the newlyweds and their guests, a string trio from Garden String Quartet played throughout the ceremony, drinks reception and evening reception.
Moving in to the Mulberry Suite to dine, the wedding breakfast commenced with seared scallop followed by smoked duck breast and an exquisite trio of desserts. Lemon sorbet with an aromatic lime and vodka shot was also served as a surprise course.
“We designed the whole menu ourselves so it all tasted amazing. The Events Team were amazingly helpful. They even brought a special tray of canapés out to us when we were having our photographs in the garden.” – Maggie & Deborah
As day turned to evening, Maggie and Deborah took to the dance floor for their first dance, beautifully choreographed to ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’ by Elvis Presley.
Of course, no wedding is complete without a cake and this happy couple chose a two-tiered sponge cake with buttercream icing from Le Papillon Patisserie.
“We had a cake topper ordered specially from Hong Kong and our florist added some fresh flower decoration.” – Maggie & Deborah
