Experience the Beauty of the Great Outdoors at Morden Hall
Boasting the convenience and style of a city wedding venue with the serenity and beauty of the countryside, Morden Hall has it all. Let’s take a look at how you can make the most of its glorious outdoor space.
Set within 125 acres of National Trust parkland, Morden Hall not only has its own exquisite private gardens, but is also surrounded by acres of natural beauty.
One of the most exciting London wedding venues with gardens, you’ll experience the feel of a countryside venue with the convenience of being just a short walk from the London Underground. Here are just five of the ways you might choose to use its beautiful gardens.
1. Your Outdoor Ceremony
In its beautiful leafy setting, some couples choose to have a celebrant blessing in our gardens. The gravel courtyard in front of the house on the north lawn is a popular setting, as is an intimate blessing on the lawn or footbridge – the ultimate in fairy-tale romance.
2. An Al-Fresco Drinks Reception
Following your blessing or ceremony in the Willow Suite or the Hawthorn Suite, why not invite your guests to wander outside for cocktails and canapés. A terraced area is just the place to stand and mingle, perhaps strolling across the lawn before moving back inside to dine.
3. Memories to Last Forever
As the meandering River Wandle separates our north lawn from the parkland, its picturesque footbridge makes an idyllic spot for photographs – just one of many settings in these breath taking gardens. Pretty gravel pathways and mature trees await romantic photos of the two of you, while the large expanse of lawn is just perfect for that all-important ‘group’ shot. It’s easy to see why a garden wedding venue is a great choice for your special day.
Of course, as the trees change colour, the gardens look spectacular throughout the year so, even if you don’t manage to spend much time outside in cooler months, you can still take advantage of the setting for your photographs.
4. Games and Entertainment
There’s nothing quite like a flat lawn for garden games. At Morden Hall, our lawn is simply crying out for a game of croquet or giant Jenga. Younger guests will enjoy a treasure hunt and you might also like to include some outdoor entertainment, from magicians and jugglers to popcorn stalls and evening sparklers.
As day turns to evening, the gardens await once more. Delight your guests with outdoor food stalls or a fire pit barbecue, embracing the fact that this magnificent house is just for you on your special day.
