A Stylish Summer Affair

Looking for a Surrey wedding venue where they could have an outdoor wedding ceremony, Hazel and Michael were delighted to find Morden Hall. With its great location near the London Underground, they fell in love with the beautiful garden and the stylish interior design.

We know how unpredictable the weather can be. At Morden Hall we didn’t need to worry if it rained – both inside and out were lovely!

Looking the part

The beautiful bride chose an off-the-shoulder Rosa Clara ball gown.

We live in the south of France and I travelled to Italy to find the dress.

Hazel completed the look with pearl earrings and necklace, a gift from Michael’s grandmother, and delicate pink shoes. Her bridesmaids looked stunning in long, pear-coloured dresses with wrist flowers and temporary gold tattoos on their hands. And finally, Michael dressed to impress in a bespoke suit made in Italy, with a bow tie from Australia.

Wedding day details

Creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere and embracing the great outdoors, the happy couple chose a colour scheme of yellow and green. Giant balloons with tassels, ribbons on the trees, beautiful flowers and garden games added to the summer vibe.

Following their romantic wedding blessing, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed cocktails and delicious canapés on the lawn before moving in to dine.

A delicious menu was served by our on-site caterers, starting with seared scallops followed by a choice of halibut or fillet of beef. For pudding, a trio of desserts was set to delight!

The happy couple danced their first dance to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri and this magical day continued in to the evening.

Hazel’s favourite moment:

The ceremony and Michael's speech. We decided to write our own vows which made it more personal. And Michael’s speech was about our story, from how we met in Hong Kong and our long distance relationship between Hong Kong, Singapore and Europe for a couple of years, until I moved to Europe to live with him. It was the first time ever that he openly expressed his feelings toward me to everyone.

Hazel’s top wedding tip

If the venue allows, get sparklers for an exit tunnel. They are inexpensive, all guests can get involved and it makes for a great photograph.

Ask your bridesmaids and ushers to help with the preparation. If I had asked everyone to arrive a little earlier to help with setting up decorations, it would have been a lot less hurried!
