An Intimate July Wedding

With an elegant, delicate colour palette, spectacular flowers, live music and fabulous cocktails, the summer wedding of Linda and Adam was wonderfully personal and oh-so-romantic.

Linda and Adam were looking for their perfect wedding venue in Surrey, close to their home in south London. Dreaming of somewhere that also boasted some outdoor space, they fell in love with Morden Hall.

It was bright and airy with stylish décor that we knew would look great in photos. It also had a private garden, everything under one roof and a dedicated events team.

Design and Décor

Setting a July wedding date the happy couple chose a colour scheme of blush pink, ivory and gold, an idyllic combination for summer.

Linda and Adam decided to play on their surnames, Knight and King, 3D-printing miniature horses and knights which held their place names and crowns to hold the favours. Horses and crowns also decorated the cake!

When it came to flowers, two large arrangements and a staircase garland featured in the ceremony, with garlands running along the horseshoe-shaped dining tables and spilling over the tables. Finally, flowers adorned the archway entrance to Morden Hall.

We hoped to create an atmosphere of elegance, romance and understated glamour.

Looking The Part

Linda chose ‘Anna’ by Israelian designer, Flora at Blackburn Bridal.

“I loved it because I was looking for a more unusual dress. I wanted it to be romantic and ethereal looking and I loved the flowers on it.”

The beautiful bride completed her look with Badgley Mischka shoes, pearl jewellery and a veil.

Adam looked the part in a bespoke navy three-piece suit by Richard James, accessorising with a vintage opal tie pin in the shape of a clover that was a gift from Linda.

Finally, Linda’s six bridesmaids wore elegant blush pink gowns from ASOS, accessorising with delicate gold bracelets.

Wedding Day Details

Following their romantic ceremony in the Sycamore Room, a drinks reception was held outside on the most glorious summer afternoon. Elderflower and rum cocktails delighted the guests while a string quartet played rock classics.

Moving in to dine, a salmon starter was followed by lamb and a trio of desserts.

“We had a surprise course – lemon sorbet served with dry ice. On a hot day, it was perfect to help the guests cool down!” – Linda

As day turned to evening, the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance to ‘Somersault’ by Zero 7 and a live funk band filled the dancefloor.

Linda’s Favourite Moment

“All the emotions in the run up to walking down the aisle. Seeing my dad’s happy face, my bridesmaids blowing kisses to me and then finally seeing Adam’s loving face at the end. I wanted to cry and smile with happiness in such a short space of time.”

Top Tip

“The events team suggested an alternative to a table plan. We attached the name and table number of each guest to an elderflower cocktail. It was nicer to spend the money on extra drinks than a printed table plan!”
