A Stylish Winter Wedding

Liz and Andrew enjoyed an elegant winter wedding at Morden Hall.

Planning their February wedding, Liz and Andrew were on the lookout for an exclusive use venue within easy reach of London. They soon fell in love with Morden Hall.

The building is beautiful and perfect for photos with the gardens. Inside, the venue itself is decorated so tastefully, it only needed a few touches to give it a bit of sparkle.

With the venue chosen, it was time to start arranging details and planning that special celebration.

Ultimately, we wanted to have a stress-free day with everyone joining us to dance, drink, eat and laugh!

Looking The Part

After visiting seven bridal boutiques and trying on over 50 dresses, Liz finally found her dream gown in Morgan Davies.

The designer was Tariq Ediz. I love it because when I put it on, I cried! The shape was just right for my figure and it was covered in sequins and diamantes.

To complete the look, Liz accessorised with a pearl headdress, sparkly Kurt Geiger shoes and an elegant bouquet of white ranunculus.

I’m not usually a girly girl in sparkles but I figured, for my wedding, why not!

Andrew wore a bespoke three-piece blue tweed suit with a custom lining. And, for the three beautiful bridesmaids, glamorous gowns with gold sequins were the perfect choice.

I wanted them to have dresses with a 1920s style. In the end, I found them from Rare London.

Wedding Day Details

The theme of the day developed during the planning process with a hint of 1920s style and plenty of sparkle.

We had lots of fairy lights and candles with gold sequins scattered over the tables. The place cards were gold and black, each adorned with a peacock feather.

Deep shades of navy and maroon combined with gold offered elegance and warmth for this winter wedding.

Following their wedding ceremony in the Willow Room and drinks reception, the wedding breakfast was served in the breathtaking Mulberry Room. Our expert on-site caterers, created an incredible menu for the couple to share with their guests.

We chose the food we love the most, including roast chicken and crumble tart. Morden Hall indulged my gold theme and dusted the dessert raspberries with edible glitter!

The evening saw the newlyweds dance their first dance to ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ by Savage Garden, and a wonderful spread of cheese, crackers and a leg of Parma ham.

As for their cake… a fabulous stack of ‘Rocky Road’ treats sprayed with edible glitter were the order of the day!

Favourite Moment

We genuinely enjoyed every last second. Friends and family have commented that we didn’t stop smiling, even for a second!
