A Truly Elegant Affair

Francesca and Andrew celebrated their springtime wedding at Morden Hall, with love, laughter and happiness the theme of the day!

The Perfect Venue

Living in Wandsworth at the time, Francesca and Andrew wanted to find a wedding venue in London and came across Morden Hall. They fell in love with it instantly.

The building was beautiful and the staff made us so welcome. The whole places was ours, the bridal suite was stunning and we were ten minutes from a tube station. What a hidden gem!

Setting an April date, the planning began.

Design and Décor

With the beauty of Morden Hall speaking for itself, the happy couple chose an elegant black and white scheme, introducing pink through flowers. Embracing family heritage, it was important to incorporate Spain in to the day alongside Andrew’s passion for football and their love of travel.

Readings in the church were in Spanish and English and the seating plan for dinner was Andrew’s ‘all time dream team’!

When it came to flowers, roses featured throughout, honouring Francesca’s grandmother, Rose.

The table flowers and bridesmaid bouquets were all gypsophila. They looked beautiful.

Bridal Style

Francesca chose a stunning, strapless, A-line gown by Allure Bridal from Paverley Bridal in Wimbledon.

“As soon as I put it on, I knew it was my dress. I loved the sweetheart neckline and the lace overlay.” – Francesca

The bride accessorised with elegant jewellery and sensational shoes by Badgley Mischka.

Andrew and his groomsmen looked the part in suits by Topman.

“Topman were brilliant. They have so many different cuts of suit so we could get everyone sorted easily.” – Francesca

Finally, Francesca found fabulous black gowns for her bridesmaids from Goddiva.

I didn’t mind how they did their hair, make up and accessories. They are all beautiful!

Wedding Day Details

Following their religious ceremony at St Anne’s Church in Wandsworth, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn at Morden Hall.

After choosing their menu at the Morden Hall Tasting Event, Francesca and Andrew decided to include a vodka sorbet palate cleanser.

“The surprise vodka sorbet was a definite winner, although I did have to warn my pregnant friends not to have it!” – Francesca

As day flowed to evening, live band, ‘The Hares’ filled the dance floor. Continuing the Spanish theme, delicious Paella was served from a chef’s station.

Morden Hall events team were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt like the most important couple they had ever had. I’m going to miss going there to plan!

Favourite Moments

“I think one of the favourite moments was our first dance. Coming together for the dance with everyone we love around us felt wonderful. It’s a memory to treasure.”
